This section deals with materials and methods for dealing with decay and
damage caused by damp and pests in buildings. This includes fungal damage
and the effects of beetle infestation in old timbers. New Building Regulations
require more attention is paid to the prevention of damp and condensation
in new buildings and the use of appropriate materials and methods when renovating
older properties. The repair of some listed structures may involve replacing
like for like even though this will not meet current regulations. We hope
