Social Services
Under Section 2 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Person's Act 1970,
Social Services Departments have a statutory duty to arrange adaptations
of people's homes. All disabled people are entitled to an assessment of their
needs at home. An assessment will normally be carried out by an Occupational
Therapist. Criteria vary throughout the UK. If you are eligible, Social Services
may help you find the money to pay for changes or may pay for the work themselves
if you cannot get other funding
