The Low Carbon Building Programme (LCBP) was a Government programme in the United Kingdom administered by BERR (formerly the DTI) which ran from 1 April 2006 until its closure to new applications on 24 May 2010. It is due to be replaced in September 2011 with a new programme called The Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme (RHI)
This section of the masterbuildersonline
website is now being developed to cover these technologies
as well as energy management and insulation methods in buildings.
It will also link to suppliers in our directory who are using
new energy technology such as solar
power and wind
power.
This
section is covered by Part
F (Ventilation), Part
J (Combustion appliances and fuel storage), and Part
L of the Building Regulations. Part L1 (new
in 2002) deals with private houses and Part L2 (also
new in 2002) deals with other buildings. These should be
read in conjunction with Regulation
7 and Amendments
(2000). These have been revised and it is
now a requirement, for example, to have replacement windows
and external doors replaced by an accredited installer
who ensures compliance with the energy saving policies
embedded in these regulations. Local Planners have authority
to require remedial works if new installations do not comply.
On-line links to download all parts of
the Building Regulations can be found at the Government's
Planning Portal (Government website url's now
seem to change frequently so we have removed direct links
to sections mentioned here). You should, however, be able
to download Approved
Documents from this link.
Note: Make
sure you have downloaded the correct versions of all Part
L documents as errors were identified in documents originally placed
on the Government website.
