This section focuses on the use of timber frame construction
for domestic and commercial buildings. The complete range of timber framing
components is included, covering traditional sawn oak frames to highly
engineered laminated framings (SIPS) and supporting structures. The section
lists suppliers and erectors, designers, architects and material suppliers.
This is an important area because increasing interest is being shown in renewable
sources of material and the excellent insulation properties of this form of
construction.
This section is dedicated to two forms of timber frame buildings,
Traditional reproduction style post and beam structures
based on English 16th Century vernacular architecture;
and prefabricated panel structures (SIPS)
using a variety of materials including timber to provide structural strength.

Traditional timber framed structures
These are frequently based
on English 16th Century vernacular architecture. An
increasing number of specialist producers are
now catering for this market with hardwood and
softwood designs. Two categories have
been set aside for these producers as shown above.
